After watching the video and listening to positives and negatives of our class, tell us any concerns or anxiousness you may have about the adventure that we have in front of us.

the video showed us that we need to communicate better and perfect our technique. There were a lot of good and bad things we saw in the video, but nothing we cant fix.
There were a lot of things you pointed out to us that we did wrong in the video, but now that we have seen how we really act and how it's supposed to be done, I think we'll be okay
I thought the video was a good teaching tool. It showed us the differnce beween the good and the bad things. As for me, the only concern I have is being able to get over my fear of heights and make it to the top.
I think the thing that I'm most concerned about is people not getting a chance to set up the bally system, tying the figure 8 knots (and all the others), and practicing the different positions. Everyone needs to learn to set up; the groups need to make sure that a person or two aren't doing all the work all the time. We'll grow into a habit that "so-and-so" will be able to do it. As for the people who do all the set up work, they should let others do it a few times. This can affect the safety of this activity, so that's why I want to make sure that everyone can and will do it.
As for actually doing the ballying and climbing, I think that the things shown on the video are things that we can fix within the span of a couple days.
I think now that we've seen the video, we know what to correct and everyone I think will be able to do that with no problem and it was a good way to show some of us that we really won't paying attention here, or climbing when we were supposed to, or having the wrong technique. - anne d
I found that, in the video, we had a lot more faults than anything else so I think we need to work on how we set up and a little more communication among our groups.
I think that we are still getting used to our new groups and the entirly new set-up. This system is a little complicated in my opinion for climbing and its really hard to adjust to for a lot of people including myself. There were a lot of mistakes in the video, but they can all be solved with some communication improvement and problem solving within our groups.
the video showed a lot of mistakes that were being made, but i think that its perfectly normal. u really cant expect people to know how to do something like the climbing system without actually doing it and getting used to it first. once very1 is used to it, i think that there will be very few mistakes. it is more commplicated than the outdoor adventure club system though, hope we can use that system eventually.
I feel that there is really only positives to say about this class and their climbing adventures that lay ahead. They are quick to learn from their mistakes and they listen when they are offered suggestions. Also, they aren't afraid to really go outside of who they really are and try something they normally feel they could never have done before now. (i.e. climb to the ceiling and just be hanging onto a beam)- for me the beam was the hardest thing I had ever done,(besides climb up with a pair of scissors for you last year H!) and it took a lot of us a lot of time and courage to even be able to let go of that beam once we were hanging on. I already see people on their second or third day of actually climbing and they just go to the top already or even get onto the beam and are able to let go and be brave. Great Job guys!)
As for the video, it is mainly what I said before, when they are told what they are doing wrong, they take immediate steps to correct it, and also they are not afraid to ask for help, which for some people is a lot harder than you would think. again, great job guys :)
The video is pretty straightforward. We need to rotate more so that everybody tries everything, and focus is a little issue, but no big. I feel pretty solid about everybody and would be ready to climb with anybody in this class.
Also, Mr. H. should consider decaf. Shaky, shaky cinematography. :)
The video showed that there is a lot we need to work on. Things like communication and proper set up are very important and everyone needs to take what they are doing more seriously. If you're the slacker be the best slacker there ever was, if you're the break- person be the best break- person there ever was. But I'm sure this is temporary, after all there isn't anything we can't fix.
i think that our class is really focused and we will improve more and more with climbing. We are working pretty hard on things like communication and teamwork, too.
the video pointed out a lot of faults and things we were doing wrong, but as long as we actually take the time to learn from our mistakes, i'm betting we'll see improvement.
i like the climbing video becuase it shows what we did there and what we learn from climbing and it shows us something that's going to help us in the future.
I have been teaching since 1995. I started teaching at Winston Campus Junior High in Palatine. In 2001 I began teaching at Fremd. I am an assistant golf and wrestling coach. I have also coached boys gymnastics and I was a sponsor for Powder Puff Football and Outdoor Adventure Club. I am the 4th child of 5, 3 older sisters and 1 younger brother. I am married and I have two great boys 2 1/2 year old and a 5 week old. Chase and Brody. I love it when I come home and chase yells out "DADDY" and has a big smile on his face and is coming to hug me.

I didn't realize that we made so many mistakes until we actually saw them with our own eyes. I think people now know to make sure to be extra careful.
It was a good way to point out all of the things that were doing wrong and to learn from them. It makes it easier to know what to improve on.
i think once we get to know our groups better well be able to communicate easier and make less mistakes

I liked that you showed us the video because it helped us see what we needed to fix in our groups, it was very helpful
I think it helped us note what we were doing right as well as what we were doing wrong. I thought it helped me out more.

We have improved because of the videos, and I think that it helped us realize things we were doing wrong that we didn't know was wrong.
I wasn't at school for the video! :(
but I know I shouldn't lay down in class anymore.
the video showed that we needed to communicate better with eachother

I agree with barry it was a great video that showed us our weaknesses and strengths.
Thanks, Nick Lewytskyj
